                    25th World Congress on Dance Research
                        7-11 April 2010, Istanbul, Turkey

 


    CID congresses are the largest gathering of dance specialists world-wide, the best opportunity to showcase one's work to a select audience of professionals, scholars and organizers.
You are invited to showcase your work to a wide audience of practitioners, dance teachers, choreographers, researchers, journalists, organizers and suppliers.
 
Congress program details
-  Research reports (papers) are presented and discussed among peers,
-  Lectures on original subjects resulting from long experience, poster presentations
-  Classes, where teachers give a short demonstration of their method
-  Performances by dance companies, duos or solos
-  Video projections presenting choreographies or full performances
-  Exhibitions and sale of books, records, pictures, costumes, accessories etc.
-  Evenings where members can discuss in a relaxed setting or dance to local music.
 -  Opening cocktail & gala dinner
-  Visits to places of special interest, such as dance schools, museums, sites etc.
 
All forms of dance are represented. Strictly non-profit.
Not to be confused with festivals, workshops, competitions, forums or open conferences.

    This congress is organized again by the Istanbul Section of  CID-UNESCO and the Istanbul Turkuaz Tourism Folklore Association, in collaboration with the International Dance Council CID-UNESCO, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture & Tourism, the Municipality of Istanbul and several other public or private organizations. Istanbul will be European Capital of Culture in 2010 and this congress will be included in the celebration program.
 
    Intended primarily for professionals, it is a trade fair and a participatory event, facilitating contacts with colleagues, informal discussions and international cooperation.
 
    Submitting a presentation (research report, lecture-demonstration, class, performance, poster, exhibition, projection) is optional and subject to being CID member.
Research reports, proposals for lectures, classes detail, performances detail or exhibitions must be sent before 07 March 2010 for reviewing by the Scientific Committee.

    Absentee presenters can register also; their presentations will be included in the program and in the proceedings. The proceedings DVD circulates worldwide in thousands of copies.
 
    To apply for a visa to consulates and/or financial assistance, registered participants receive an official certificate.
